About

Thomas ‘Mitch’ Mitchener is a producer who is carving out a niche as the breakthrough producer for an exciting new generation of British music. With his experience, wide range of skills, humble nature & his own studio space, he is the epitome of what a modern producer and mix engineer should be. His talents have been recognised by the Music Producers͛ Guild, where Mitch was long-listed for Producer of the Year and Mix Engineer of the Year at the 2021 and 2022 MPG Awards, having been previously mentioned in the Breakthrough Producer of the Year category in 2020.

Mitch has built up an impressive portfolio with projects the likes of The Damned, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, The Futureheads, La Roux / Tyler, The Creator, Gallows, Bryde, Chappaqua Wrestling, Wargasm, Counterfeit, Dead!, The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Hello Operator and Asylums. He has recently been working with new rising talents Lovebreakers, Vukovi, LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, ZAND, Fanny Andersen and NoahFinnce, among others. He has produced three recent Top 20 albums: ‘Blossom’ (#18) and ‘Modern Ruin’  (#7) by Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, as well as ‘Darkadelic’ by legendary punk band The Damned (#9). Mitch has also worked on multiple tracks that have surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify and his productions and mixes are regularly showcased on Spotify and Apple Music’s biggest playlists, including New Music Friday and The Rock List as well.

A multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, bass, piano, saxophone and drums (among others) as well as a trained sound engineer and Pro Tools operator, his experience brings an understanding of the artists he works with. Mitch knows the concerns and creative desires of his artists because he’s been there himself; his background creates a productive studio vibe, while his touring experience brings an intimate knowledge of band dynamics. His studio Broadfields in Watford, described by Music Tech as ‘a punk’s dream’, is the ideal space to make records from start to finish in a creative and inspiring atmosphere.

Being able to create a relaxed, non-judgemental safe place where artists feel comfortable to not only perform at their best but also to have the confidence and inspiration to experiment is what I strive for the most. Every single artist is totally different.” says Mitch.
